What Is a Planetary Gear Module and How Does It Work?

A planetary gear module is a compact transmission mechanism in which several planet gears rotate around a central sun gear and inside an internal ring gear.

In MATEX's Planetary Drive example, the internal gear is fixed and the module provides a compact reduction stage with coaxial input and output. The module is intended to be integrated directly into the customer's mechanism.
